Art of Shaving

Perhaps this is old news and I missed it here. Interesting take on AOS and its new owner, Proctor & Gamble. Signs of shaving and overall economic recovery?

Yes it's old new here at B&B. I speak with some of the people in the NYC stores and expect no changes to the Creams and Soaps. Razor's are over priced but their soaps and creams are some of the best out there in MHO.
You have not tried their sandalwood soap you must. It has spoiled me for all others.

Good article. I think the high priced hard ware is a good thing. That's were they make profit and without profit we likley wouldn't have access to their great soaps and shaving creams. Plus somebody out there is happy with those $3400 shaving sets...sounds like a win/win to me. I hope they continue to do business as usual, keep selling the high priced hardware (making profit), and refrain from reformulating the soaps and creams. :001_cool:

+1. If the suck... er, I mean, wealthy folks out there help ensure that we'll always have AoS soap, that's fine by me.

Very good point here. There will always people that A. will not do the research about the hardware. B. have a heck of lot more money than I do that can buy a $3400, C. will buy on impulse when they are AOS stores.

AOS has a very good marketing plan which does expose new people to soap and creams and their Perfect Shave System. Of course P&G is expecting people to walk in there and buy inflated priced hardware with AOS products. What kind of people, other than us, are they trying to market to? AOS hardware is easily becoming another status symbol item. Truffit and Hill and Trumpers could expand as well into other markets to compete with AOS. It would be good to have some competitors around, better for all IMHO.

try looking for Pil's safety razor..$250..handmde in Germany dE razor!!..I am liking my AOS unscented with D.R. Harris Pink Aftershave
