What's new

Arko lovers

I just love ARKO soap. I think it is so under rated because of its price. If the company was to stop making soap tomorrow do you think it would become as coveted as Yardley of yesteryear?

You are likely correct. And, if you think the price in North America is cheap, I bought my first stick in Turkey a few months ago for only USD 0.79 (yes, 79 cents). Great stuff :001_smile

Now that would be a disastrous event; I have just 22 sticks left and I doubt that that will be enough to survive me!

Better get me another box to ensure I can still sleep at night. :crying:

Especially because it is so cheap the remainder would be sold out worldwide in just hours when news like that hits B&B.

Arko is awesome. If it went the way of the dodo I'd be stocking up on Amazon, definitely!

Man, I feel a little left out for not having a stockpile. I only have my stick and one unopened stick.

If it were on the chopping block, you'd better believe I'd stock up QUICK. How long as Arko been around?

Long time lover of the Arko stick! Down to the active stick and two others. Will definitely stock pile some when tax time comes around:001_tt1:

I love Arko soap too. I've got 16 sticks left and will probably buy more soon. I even like the smell. It smells to me like ivory soap and grape Kool-aid. I hope they never stop making it and never change it. The label, the smell, especially the lather... Arko's great.

First shave stick that I used.

Lathers easy, inexpensive and it smells like Ivory soap on steroids.:wink2:

What more could you ask for in a shave soap.

Do you guys use the stick itself or press it into a bowl/mug/etc?

I use mine as a stick, but am debating pressing one of my other sticks into a bowl. As much as I prefer/ enjoy using shave sticks, I'm starting to find the process irritates and dries my face if done two or three days in a row

If you do decide to put it in a bowl, save yourself the hassle of grating it down. Arko is insanely soft and can be pressed into a bowl like it were Playdo.

This soap peaked my interest and should come in the mail today. I was thinking about pressing it into a container with a spoon to smooth it out even.

I used it as a stick once and the result was not that good, so i pressed it into a bowl, and used it like a soap.
The results are a lot better.
Be sure to start whit a brush loaded whit water and work the soap into the bowl until you get a rich creamy lather.

I use it from the stick. The first few times I used it, it seemed to take for ever to get enough soap from the stick onto the beard area. I started applying with the stick at more of an angle, giving more surface area of the soap going over my face. It might get used a bit faster this way, but at it's price I'm OK with that.

I have about a dozen sticks just in case but I may need to pickup a few more now that this rumor has started!
