Anyone else think these smell the same? I didn't realize Williams was tallow either.

I agree. Arko is pretty badarse.
Just lathered the Williams. Not bad. Not the greatest. Doesn't like water, had to go back to the puck a few times as well as discharge the brush (I'm trying to coin some lingo, means "squeeze lather out with thumb and forefinger"), but...I did produce a nice quality merigune. Wonder it will taste on this lemon pie?

They smell kinda similar to me. Williams is exhibit A for the argument: "Tallow does not a quality soap make"

+1
Williams might work for some on the board, but in my opinion it is garbage as a shave soap. Far far better products are available, and for not all that much more money.
The scent of Williams, and Arko is similar; however, I don't mind the scent of Arko, but find the scent of Williams to be utterly disgusting.
"Lathers like dishsoap and smells like bugspray!, Gather all the Williams up and toss all your cares away!" That's what we Van der Spice sailors sing aboard the good ship Grand Turk

It's all about what gets done with tallow....
