Are You the Only Shaver in Your Household?

I'm straight, but there must be some gay couples who get to share their Tabac, razor handles, etc, and I'm jealous. Very economical.

Does anyone have roommates, housemates, fathers, sons or partners who share? Is it a blessing or an annoyance?

My wife likes my Thayer's, but everything else is hands off. She uses one of those multi-blade monsters to shave her legs, although she has been known to pilfer some of my Kiss My Face lime shaving cream.

My girlfriend uses my Thayer's as well and she shaves her legs with a mach 3 and canned shaving gel. So other than the Thayer's I don't have to share and I don't think I would like to share Brushes or razors with any body else to be honest.

I probably wouldn't share brushes either. But it would be nice to be able to buy double the amount of soaps & blade samples, and then split everything 50/50 that you both like. Or trade when only one person likes a soap/blade.

Yes being able to try twice the amount of soaps would be a bonus, I have several creams at the moment that I don't use at all and I almost feel sorry for them every time I pick up one of my soaps, If only I had some one to use them

I am the only wet shaver in my household. I am living with my parents (student on a budget!) and my dad uses disposable Mach3s and canned goo. He's not too interested in wet shaving unfortunately.

One of my good friends is a wet shaver, and we've already traded blades and creams, which is quite nice considering this makes a win-win situation for both of us (let go an item you don't like and get one you like) :)

Maybe planning to hang to his/my place some day and shave together. Just to compare technique and hardware/software used!

Say I'm weird if you want, but shaving with another guy is something I'm curiously very interested in.

You're weird! J/K
That's a good idea- trading with with a nearby friend. Everyone I know and have asked so far either uses a Mach and goo or an electric.

I only know what it's like to shave with others because of communal dorm bathrooms in my freshman year of college. Come to think of it, that's the only place where I received advice until this forum. My dad and I get along well, but didn't talk about shaving technique that much if I recall correctly. And anyway he uses a Mach and goo!

I loaned my brother my flare tip Super Speed. He shaves his face with it. (Uses a cartridge for his head).

Toothpick

Needs milk and a bidet!
There are 2 other face shavers in the house. I. Don't. Share.

they are cartridge users and. I. Don't. Want. To. Use. Their. Stuff.

I don't trust them to use my things respectively. If they ever showed interest (which they never have) I would guide them to purchase their own stuff.

I'm the only wet shaver. Nobody in my household ever had an interest in my DE (Gillette Rocket HD) or my system razors (Trac II and Atra).

I'm the only one. I knock the fuzz off of my now 12 year old's upper lip about once a month now.... but other than that, it's just me. I have a soon to be 9 year old son as well and between him and my older son I'm already envisioning the shave gear I am going to set them up with. They will not be deprived in this area of their life as long as I'm around. My older son will be getting a Krona Kruiser replated 1938-45 Gillette Fat handle Tech because it's the first razor I used on him. I've got matching cased 1976 W1 Gillette Black Handle Super Speeds.... one for each of them (their pop's birthyear/quarter), and a Semogue 620 Boar for my oldest in a year or two. I broke it in for him because I'm a good dad.

Just me at home. SWMBO uses those horrible multi-things.

My wife inherited my old cartridge razor and doesn't have the patience to shave her legs at any pace other than 100mph which rules out using a DE.
She does, however, use my creams. I have had to steer her towards some of my least favourites after finding almost a quarter of a tub of TOBS lavender had been use for 1 shave!

I'm the only one in my household, but I have converted most of my friends so I end up getting a lot of visits to pick up more shaving kit to try.

The wife uses my software all the time and she has her own designated brush. She has even developed a rotation of creams/soaps that she likes. I do not mind her usage as it is cool to hear her feedback and performance comments on various soaps.

While she has shaved with a few of my DE razors in the past, she does not have patience and insists on zipping around with my Sensor cartridge razor.

Everyone in my house is a wetshaver. I use straights my girlfriend shaves her legs with a blue lady Gillette and my homey uses a gilette de. My girlfriend liberated my kmf lime and I'm pretty sure my roommate used all my preshave oil. We have a closet near the bathroom where we all keep all of our various shaving product and it keeps that part of the apartment smelling amazing!

My 16 year son & I have separate brushes, but share soaps, a shaving bowl & after shave products. We also, in theory, take it in turns to use different razors, but once my son finds a razor he likes, he tends to stick with it. I have a minty 1940's fat handle Tech which I have only been able to use once before my son started using it. I pass onto my son any blades from sample packs that aren't man enough to cope with my stubble, as his stubble is a lot lighter than mine at present.
