Are fake blades a problem?

Even though I've only been DE shaving for a couple of weeks I'm finding that Feather blades are giving me the most comfortable shave; I have very coarse beard and I find that the Feather slices through that better than the other blades I've tried (Derby, Astra SP, Gillette yellows).
I see that on ebay I can purchase Feather blades from vendors in places like Singapore and Thailand for about half the price as I can from UK based vendors. However 50 years on the planet have taught me that if something looks too good to be true it probably is, so are these blades likely to be low quality fakes?

My Feathers came from Amazon and the company selling through Amazon was Thai4you based in Thailand. My blades are just fine. I was looking to buy a 100 pack and that too is a company based in Thailand (through Amazon.) Perhaps the UK and U.S. vendors are charging more because they are getting them from Thailand or Singapore also and have to make up for shipping costs? I never gave it any thought before. They look real!

Easy solution to your problem: buy those Feathers from a B&B-supporting vendor, here:http://badgerandblade.com/vb/forumdisplay.php/145-Vendor-Hall-of-Fame.

They have all been vetted and have proved over many transactions to be reliable and gentlemanly folks to deal with. They also help us keep the lights on here at B&B--just like our member-contributors. Why buy anywhere else?

I've done just that, 100 Feathers ordered from Jason at http://www.doubleedgeshavingplace.com/
Good price for them even despite the poor USD/GBP exchange rate that PayPal use.

It is very unlikely that double edged blades are faked, even the most expensive brands like feather are still so cheep that counterfeiting would barely be worth it.
There are fake cartridges out there.
