Are DE89lbls being discontinued?

I noticed something odd going on with the De89l series. It appears the stock of them is slowly dwindling from online retailers. Two of the largest retailers that I noticed had plenty of them in stock recently and suddenly ran out are amazon.com and soap.com. I think some of the smaller distributors that have less volumes still have them in stock. Is something going on with this particular model? I very much doubt Edwin Jagger would be discontinuing such a popular line but it also seems very odd that a company as big as amazon or soap.com would suddenly run out of stock of one of their most popular razors without an option to order for a future ship date. Usually when this happens you get a button to order for shipping in 2-3 weeks from amazon. When such an option doesn't exist on amazon that usually means the manufacturer discontinued to product.

I just got in contact with both amazon and soap.com and they both said they are no longer carrying the de89lbl. odd

Yes. The "BL" on the end isn't really part of the razor's designation; it just means it's a DE89L with BLades.

I think any of the de89 with the lined handles are disappearing. Amazon had it back in stock for one day before it sold out again. Edwin Jagger's own site doesn't list it and the majority of their retailers don't have it in stock anymore. West coast shaving has it listed as out of stock. I don't think it makes a difference if its the ones with or without the blades. Not really sure whats going on, I've just noticed them progressively disappearing. Very odd for such a popular razor.

Except for Amazon, it is in stock in several online stores I looked at, including West Coast Shaving. That said, if I were buying an EJ razor these days, it would be of the Barley variety and/or the ivory colored handle.
