AOS soap vs Cade soap

just curious what the opinion is - I am currently using MWF and Edwin jagger aloe and sea buckthorn (this particularly kills MWF IMHO) and am curious out of the two, which performs closed to Edwin Jagger?

I dunno, I actually have the sea buckthorne, but haven't used it yet. All I can say is that Cade smells wonderful... AOS, not so much :)

AoS lavender destroyed CADE in performance, but I enjoy their scents equally. As far as AoS sandalwood goes, it seems to get a lot of love. I should note that AoS soaps are tallow based so they are performers. I like the scents but thats a subjective topic. I found CADE to be a bit drying.

Currently I'm only using AOS Sandalwood, Cade and Palmolive stick in my rotation. For me the AOS is a better all around performer than the Cade, but the Cade scent does have it's allure. I'll leave the Palmolive out of the discussion.

I have a L'Occitane and AoS store within a 2 minute walk at my local mall and the AoS refills are $26USD and the Cade pucks at $10USD. I was talking to the AoS lady about cade and she was dissing on it so badly. I have yet to try it but I love AoS Creams. Can't wait to try their soaps. I have cade soaps on the way.

Your results are quite different than mine. I find EJ soaps to be mediocre while MWF is the best soap that I have ever used. Keep working on your lather and read this.

I haven't used AoS soaps, but the Valobra stick is my second favorite soap and Valobra makes AoS. They are said to be identical in terms of performance. Cade is good, but there are many soaps that I prefer. So I recommend AoS.

I will certainly give it a try in the morning. Meanwhile, may I ask you to try rubbing the EJ soap on the face and then creating lather. I certain you will not be disappointed. My lather was so dense that I literally could not shave with Mach 5 - I mean I would have had to press VERY hard to get the blades to make contact with skin and actually grab some hair.

I find Cade to be a bit drying - my face feels chalky after the shave - while AoS leaves my skin feeling healthier. The shave quality is the same either way.

I would have a hard time taking her word that Cade is an inferior product. No offense to the ladies, but she is not using it everyday and sort of talking about something she doesn't know about.

I LOVE the scent of CADE but it's rough on my face after two days. I've tried several AOS soaps. Lavender burned. Unscented was nice but didn't seem to have any slickness to it. My razor's pass left dry skin in it's path. It's Hydrolast for me friends!

I have never tried the AOS soaps ($26 just for the refill:blink:) but I have the CADE soap and it is right up there at the top of the list for me. Lathers effortlessly, and gives a great shave. I have not had problems with drying or irritation using CADE, but as always, YMMV.

I'd say neither. AoS performs well, but all their soaps smell "off" to me. Cade smells great, but I, like others, find it to be drying.

Try Provence Sante Green Tea before it's gone (westcoastshaving.com... no affiliation. it's just the only place that sells it, iirc.).

That lady sucks. AoS may be great soap, but I'll never use them. That lady sucks, and the company she works for sucks. They charge way too much, and that sucks. I used two AoS face soaps and they sucked. :thumbdown

I love Cade, and it doesn't suck.

The closest thing that I've found to the EJ soaps is Floris JF. I'm not sure if they come out of the same plant, but the consistency of the lather is virtually identical. Also the look of the soap itself is very similar, they're both a little translucent, unlike any of the other triple milled soaps I've tried.
