AOS Sandal wood

Does anyone know of a sandalwood scent thats similar to the AOS sandalwood scent? I love the smell but i cant justify spending that much money on shaving cream.

Actually for as little as you need to get an adequate lather per shave, a tub will last a very long time.

But to answer your question no, I haven't found anything else that has a similar scent.

AOS Sandalwood is real Sandalwood Essential Oil. The best possible scent. Unfortunately I do not know of anything similar but it's 22 bucks for a 5 ounce tub. That tub should last you about 3-4 months. How often do you visit Starbucks on your way to work?

Your other option would be to find some Sandalwood EO from an oil/fragrance supplier and add it to your favorite brand of unscented cream. Just use a VERY LITTLE bit and flavor to olfactory satisfaction.

I don't consider the $22 cost of AOS shaving cream to be that expensive. It's within the price range of other similar high quality creams.

AOS is using Sandalwood Essential Oil, so the scent is pure Sandalwood, while other Sandalwood creams are Sandalwood Fragrance Oil (aka a synthetic scent) thus the scents are going to be quite different.

If you buy the refill soap you can put it into something like this:

I do this with most of the soaps I buy so it does save me some $$$$.

Both the AOS soap and cream smell like no others. I'm not really sure what sandalwood really smells like but I hope it's like AOS's soap or cream. Great performance from both products and worth the investment. The only other sandalwood cream I have is C&E and it smells like cigarette ashes. I didn’t make that up. I read it on a B&B post. After I read it I smelled it and the author was right, C&E sandalwood cream IMHO smell awful and no match for AOS.

I recently had a tub of Salter's Indian Sandalwood and it smelled like incense. Good thing was that someone here loves incense (I do too, just not on my face) and wanted it....it's on its way to him!

AOS Sandalwood cannot be beat by anything i've tried to date. Not CF (Cedarwood/Sandalwood), Not the Salters, and if I'm placing the Vulfix, TOBS, and T&H Scents correctly based on description (i've not tried any of them yet)....it blows them away too!

AoS has the best sandalwood scent. To me, ToBS has a heavier cologne scent to their sandalwood cream. Vintage Blades Sandalwood is about the closest to AoS of the 5 sandalwoods I've tried. The scent is similar but the VB has a lighter scent. AoS is not that much more money than other creams. I paid $22 for my AoS, but you need less cream per shave than the $15 ToBS so it's worth it in the long run. Why spend $15 for something you won't enjoy as much when for a few dollars more you can get what you really want? If you like the AoS, buy it. I've been breaking in a new brush, by letting it sit loaded up with AoS Sandalwood. The bathroom smells great.
