AOS lemon

This seems like it would be a nice summer soap, but I'm afraid it might be a bit harsher on my sensitive skin than the other scents. Any thoughts?

Thanks.

Excellent tallow based soap with a very light scent. FWIW, I have had no problems with irritation from this soap.

I'm not very sensitive, but when I wet the puck and go back to load the brush, I can see the lemon oil kind of separating from the water. They also don't recommend it specifically for sensitive skin: http://www.theartofshaving.com/shop/product/40001/27 Hopefully someone with sensitive skin can give you a better answer, but they may be sensitive to different things. This is why they need to do samples. PM me if you want a sample off my puck.

I have very sensitive skin too and I have been wondering the same thing about the AOS Lemon. I have been wanting lemon or citrus scented soap for a while, and I haven't tried AOS yet (have tried Valobra stick though).

I think I may just go for it soon and hope it doesn't give me any irritation.

I've had no irritation from it - I suspect that if it doesn't work out for you you'll be able to recoup most of your investment on BST - AOS is regarded here as one of the best!

It is a very light lemon scent....

Thanks for the responses, guys.

I have the AOS unscented now, and I think it's absolutely outstanding. Maybe I'll roll the dice on the lemon. Of course, there's always lavender and sandalwood . . .

I have both lemon and lavender. If you don't want to take a risk with lemon, you can't go wrong with the lavender.

Frankly, I find AOS's recommendations to be just so much marketing BS. I'm fairly sensitive to citrus oils, but the amount of lemon oil in the AOS products is so low as to have no effect on me. Aside from the unscented, I find the lemon range to have the lowest scent concentration of AOS's offerings, and I notice no ill effects from using any of the lemon products, including the pso, cream, soap, asb or a/s gel. Moreover, the shaving soap seems to have the lowest concentration of scent within the lemon range. Obviously if you have an outright allergy to lemon or citrus, you'd be well advised to stay away, but otherwise, I doubt you need to worry. YMMV, of course.

I have used AOS Lemon soap and rather liked that the scent was very mild. I doubt that there is enough lemon in the soap to have any significant effect. I agree that their marketing use of aroma therapy to designate which soaps are intended for which skin is probably hyperbole.

I sent an e-mail to AOS a few weeks ago, asking whether the formulation of each soap was the same or different (other than scent). I have not received a reply. Thanks for the reminder. I may try calling them in the morning.

They're the same (AOS soaps), if the ingredients lists, appearance and function are anything to go by.

I did not find any difference between Lemon and Lavender soap when I used them. I have not tried sandalwood. Unless there are slight variations in the quantities of each ingredient, there probably is no difference at all.
