Anyone know where to get a razor bank?

Hi,
I am looking to get a razor bank to send to my son, working out in Taiwan.(I got him all the other DE/wet shaving kit as he is just finished studying and is a bit broke)
I have one but got it for free from Lee's Razor's when I bought a Merkur. He doesn't actually sell them and I can't seem to find one at all.
I know you can make them and use other things but I want to treat my son to a decent looking one
Any ideas....?
Regards
Jem

Jem, then really make your own. The commercial ones are typically plain white and small, boring really. You can make your own however you wish and he will know you took the time to make it. Also he will think of you when he tosses a blade into it.

I appreciate both those answers for different reasons!
Many, many thanks for those thoughts guys!

Jem

I've actually been thinking of getting a small coin bank, like a piggy bank or similar. A little more decorative on the counter and pretty cheap.

It's ugly but it's cheap (essentially free) and what he needs is already there. Basically, you take a can of thin non-chunky soup (like broth), take a big heavy knife, tap tap tap it gently into the top of the can and in and in until the slot is about 1.5 inches wide, move the handle of the knife side to side (to round the edges inside and down, and to loosen the can's grip on the blade), and then withdraw. Pour out the soup (I guess it's chicken soup that night), rinse, and voila.

He probably will want to peel off the label; I wouldn't want the word "Chicken" staring at me as I'm putting a blade against my throat...

Thanks for mini tutorial.
I have seen one made like that on the forum here and painted red and white..quite classy

You can get a blade bank at 7-11.

I use an Altoids Mini can, and it works perfectly. The lid snaps on securely and the blades fit in easily. Plus you get to enjoy the mints!

Hey, now that's a good idea. I usually just wrap mine in a paper towel and toss it in the trash and if someone is dumb enough to cut themselves digging through my garbage oh well.

Search the forums. There are a couple threads on homemade banks. Soup cans, plastic bottles etc. I glued the lid on a Propel water bottle shut and cut a slit in it for the blades. It will probably take me a decade to fill.
