anyone else use three bowls?

i use one bowl to wet my brush. another to hold my soap and yet another to whip up a lather! is that odd or do other people do that?

I use two but plan to get a third. One for lather whippage. The second to soak my brush and then use for rinsing my razor during the shave(my stupid sink doesn't have a plug and I hate running the water constantly because I can't hear the shave). I think I'll get a third and throw it in for soaking my brush instead of the bowl I'm using. Maybe a mug, haven't decided.

I soak my brush in a small metal tumbler, and most of my soaps and creams have their own container, and then I have my big wood lather bowl. That's my set up.

Just two. The little bowl on the rare occasions when I don't face lather, and the big bowl for....well, other things.

Yes, I use a bowl for the brush. I don't like my brush touching dirty sink water from rinsing the DE, and with a straight I don't fill the sink. You can call whatever is holding my soap a "bowl" although "jar" or "tub" may be slightly better descriptions. I typically face lather, but when I don't there is a third bowl involved.

I guess I could use just about any containers, but bowls are OK.

I build lather with three separate products in three different but identical bowls. Then I turn the bowls upside down and play a bit of a shell game that leads me to picking a random bowl for actual shaving use.

Just kidding. No bowls for me. Have a nice day.

You shouldn't have to leave your faucet on, unless you are constantly rinsing your razor. I usually do a full pass before rinsing off my razor.

I use my grandfathers small mug to soak the brush in. Sometimes I bowl lather and I keep my soap in whatever container it came in

One bowl. I soak my brush in it, then dump the water and lather in the same bowl. I personally don't see the need to have two bowls for that. I load my brush from the fancy container the soap comes in.

+1 - If I am bowl lathering I fill the bowl with hot water and soak my brush in it first. This also preheats the bowl to keep the lather warm. After I have whipped up lather it sits in the sink of hot water.

If I am face lathering, I just soak my brush in the sink.

I haven't bought soaps that come with fancy containers. Colonel Conk, Williams, and VDH go in one of my many mugs. Mama Bear soaps come in not so fancy genuine plastic (why accept imitations?) tubs.

Just one to soak the brush. I face lather soaps and might use the bowl to lather creams or superlather. I don't like to fill the sink. Its easier to keep clean if I let everything just go down the drain. fewer things to clean up in the morning. I do keep a small towle hanging on a loop on my shave table that I wipe down the sink with. It just seemed like a good habit to get into in case I ever find a SWMBO.

Since I usually use shave sticks, I tend to use two. One that is more cylindrical to hold my brush while it's soaking. The second bowl is bigger and acts as a basin of water. My sink won't hold water so it's necessary.
