I am looking into buying MDC soaps and I am wondering if there is anyone here arranging a group buy - if so - I would like to be a part of it !

I'd be down or snag one off of bst they have been coming up lately but keep missing them
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong but I thought I read there was not much savings on the last group buy, by the time it all comes across the Atlantic and then shipped to all and sundry...
How come there is savings on group buy brushes and not much on soaps ? Do soaps cost more to make ? I'm just curious myself

There is not a current MdC group buy. If you want it, I would recommend just buying it; the last group buy was over 18 months ago.
It has to do with the logistics of it. For an MdC group buy, the jars gets shipped twice; for the current M&F group buy, the brushes only get shipped once.

I think with the shipping and re-shipping involved (and what I remember as pretty marginal volume discounts from the vendor) no one has yet found a way to make the MdC group buy all that economical. The time and effort required to successfully coordinate a group buy is probably not worth a measly dollar here or there in savings. Maybe that's why there hasn't been one in over a year.
