What's new

Any Warehouse 13 Fans?

Good evening gents. I wondered if anyone here follows this series? I have watched since the first episode and I like it quite a lot. Part X-files, part Indiana Jones, part...I don't know what. I absolutely love the steampunk gadgetry strewn throughout each episode. Especially the video communicator. I know serious steampunks don't think the gadgets are made well enough but I think they are trying for an almost utilitarian "see, you can believe this stuff works if you imagine hard enough" imagery. The gadgets are always around but somehow don't overwhelm the story. It is taking me awhile to cozy up to the two main characters but Saul Rubinek as Artie is fantastic. I hope it makes a go of it. We haven't had a decent X-files like series since....the X-files. Remember, this one is not nearly as dark and conspiracy theory driven. It is more slam bang and fun. Check it out on SciFi Tuesday evenings. BTW, I REFUSE to call it SyFy like they are doing now. Who are these people? Changing the name of their channel to something goofy like that. It is SciFi, savvy?

Regards ,Todd

I like the show, it reminds me of an earth-bound Stargate SG-1 with the jokes and inside jokes (I am not a red-shirt!)

I've also been watching it. Artie is the best character, but then Saul Rubinek is a very good actor. Of the 2 main characters, I like Pete but Myka is really annoying... though I'm warming up to her, and I realize that that's the way she's supposed to be. Besides, I've liked Joanne Kelly since I first watched her in The Dresden Files... very pretty girl. Yeah, and I love those gadgets, especially the communicator and the Tesla.

Funny thing... Sci-Fi (or syfy, what's up with that?) has it listed as "comedy":skep:

You refuse to call it SyFy? But they pronounce it the same! Although admittedly it looks more like siffy to my eyes. Way to go marketing! :w00t:

Anyway, I haven't checked out Warehouse 13. Honestly I have been a bit leery of SciFi and their original series and movies as of late.

Ah, Grasshopper Matt. Obviously you have much yet to learn. Remember, you are in the land of curmudgeons here. Things such as this may not make sense to others but they do to me and others of my ilk. We care not that SyFy channel remade its name to something more video game like. They will ruddy well be called SciFi and that is that. Seriously though, I do think the new spelling is goofy.

I like it so far, and think it will get better as the writers get used to it and they can figure out the strengths of the actors. I just hope the premise doesn't get too old first.

But, so far, so good.

I watched a couple of episodes and thought it was pretty good for a series. It reminds me of the show that had the older man that knew all of the evil things with the good looking redhead lady and the half naive young guy.

as a side note of scifi....if you ever watch the show that has aliens trying to get to Potosi Missouri....that is about 40 minutes from my house...that is so funny because I understand why those people are so wierd.....lol....

Warehouse 13 gives me hope for the new broken Sci-Fi channel; I absolutely love the show, and it seems to keep getting better and better.

It might even redeem Sci-Fi for the absolute failure that BattleGate Enterprise: 90210 Anatomy that Stargate Universe will be.

I've liked it but worry that the writers are going to take themselves, and thus the show, too seriously. The last episode was almost completely without the quirkiness and comedic wit of the first couple shows. Keep it fun!

Curmudgeons? But I like you folks.

Yeah, the new spelling, if you can call it spelling, is goofy. SyFy, siffy or whatever you call it looks more like shorthand for a certain venereal disease rather than the name of a television channel. Maybe I'm being juvenile here, but I find their new name hilarious.

I'm mostly enjoying it. It really isn't a great show, but good enough to watch when there isn't anything better. Oh, and +1 to SciFi and not that ridiculous SyFy.

That would be Friday the 13th: The Series. Yup, pretty much the same basic idea.

yeah that;s it....late at night i don;t think too well.....yes pretty much the same idea isn;t it.

I watched the pilot and thought it was OK but understood that like all pilots there's some development that will take place as the writers-actors settle in. I haven't seen that yet but there's still time. +1 on Saul Rubinek - he's the only reason why I keep coming back to the show. The show was picked up for a second season and we'll see what direction they creative team takes it.

I really enjoy the series thus far. One of the few the wife and I both agree on. In fact this is on "season pass" on the TiVo. It is nice to see well written shows as opposed to the "reality TV" drivel being broadcast by the major networks. I hope it lasts. I am however, looking forward to the new NCIS spin-off.
