Any razors with similar shave to a Fat Handled Tech?

I've just recently started shaving with a fat handled Gillette tech and the shaves have been fantastic!

I think it's because it has a thin low profile head.

I have previously tried the fatboy and the long handled Gillette adjustable and neither achieved the shaves I'm getting with the FH Tech.

So I can only conclude it's because of the simple head design.

So I was wondering if anyone can suggest razors that can shave like a fat handled Gillette Tech, as I'd like to try them...

Tech's a great under rated razor. Probably the best bang for the buck, try a Gillette New. As always ymmv

I always thought the 1948-50 Super Speed gave a similar shave to the fat handle Tech. The other thing you can do is get another Tech and send to a custom razor maker to get the head re-plated and a custom handle made. My son had that done and he's extremely happy with the outcome. It's not expensive but the guy will only do a 3 piece razor head like the Tech. You can also get a custom handle made for a HD. I'll get the address from my son.

If the fat tech was more aggressive it would be my favorite. It is so smooth. I also credit that to the flat profile head and can't find one another quite like it. I don't like the New models very much

I really don't want to start a blade preference war discussion. Having said that, I really like the Red Personnas, but also have Feathers, Derby Extras, and Crystals. I think I'll try the Red Personna since I know I like it in Red Tips and Adjustables. Any differing thoughts?

I think I have read somewhere that they are a little more aggressive.
I have to say that it is a superb underrated shaver. I haven't tried the Fat Handle Tech but I am sure planning to.
I think the low profile head does help to get a closer shave.
I had great shaves with Merkur HD, again, I think the low profile head works great for me.

Great idea! I'd like to see that address, too.

The only complaint I have about my Fat Tech is that the handle is a little light. I think with a HD handle it would be delightful. It's a great, mild everyday shaver.

You could look for a Lux or a Feather Travel razor. Both are tech clones and each has a review here.

There's no need to try anything else. They were made for each other.

The Lord Tech clone from Egypt is a sweet lttle razor.Very similar to the fat handle Tech.Cheap too.
