Any Honers in Wales?

Hi, never as yet, come accross a welsh honemiester, i think this is the reason i bought stones to have a go myself, i have sent razors out to uk honemiesters though before i started honing myself, try some local barbers who offer traditional shaves, they may know someone.

If I find one I will add it to that list :thumbup1:

Where and what stones did you get fellow Welshman? If you don't mind me asking.

I bought a barber stone from Larry at Whipped Dog. I tried it earlier but it didn't seem to work. So I think poor stropping has dulled it and a barber stone won't bring it back, so I need something else.

If the razor was shave ready and you dulled it with improper stropping, then a fine barber hone should be enough. Most barber hones are slow so you need to be diligent but they do work. Again, the caveat is that the barber hone is fine.

I bought a nirwania combo from amazon in a sale, a c12k from the bay, and a 1 g diamond from axeminster, also have a dt from thier web site, and a barbers hone from the bay, i have only sent razors to gary and cant praise him enough for his work and his advice, a great fellow.

Hi,

Of the honemeisters we have in the UK, I know of three (3)

Mr Neil Miller of www.strop-shop.co.uk

Mr Steve Dempster of www.InvisibleEdge.co.uk

Mr Gary Haywood of Nottingham.

Geographically, Mr Dempster is nearest to Wales; he is in Malvern, Worcs.

Have fun !

regards

Russ

I don't have Gray's information in Wiki, is it possible for you to contact him and ask him if he wants to be part of the list? Is he a member on B&B?

Luc,

Gary is indeed a member of B&B (member name 'gary haywood').

I have sent him a PM.

Have fun !

best regards

Russ
