Any Franken-soapers out there?

I am contemplating combining amounts of some of my favorite soaps and am wondering if anyone has tried this. If so, what have you come up with? Even if the scents "clash" what about performance?

I don't do it with a lot of my stuff. I try to mix same brands most of the time. Mystic Water wild lavender + Mike's lime is a favorite of mine. Tried Tabac and MWF together after another member posted trying the combo. I would personally rather just shave with just Tabac since it is pretty much perfect to begin with

i have a frankensoap, but it's made up of soaps i tried but wasnt crazy about. 1 bay rum, 1 williams, 2 VDH deluxe, 1 marvy.
having VDH is nice because its a softer soap and keeps it all together. also it is cheap and lathers well.
another good thing is the container i have it in. it's very deep and has a top. because its so deep i can add all the water i need, load all i want and be as messy as i want, but still not spill any. it actually works out pretty well.

if you have soaps you like, i would just leave them alone. make the frankensoap out of the so-so stuff.

I melted down about 25 samples I had of Mama Bears soaps into one puck. It came out smelling like women's perfume. I gave it to my wife, but I doubt she will use it.

Good perspective, thanks.

With shave sticks I have melded Valobra and Dr harris lavender together and I put Erasmic and Speik together. The latter was a good un, the former not so nice. The bin liked it though.

I've combined Aramis, Haslinger honey, and one other which I can't remember. The result smells like dial and lathers decent. It's an enormous puck which I will never fully consume.

A couple of months ago I melted half a tub of Mama Bear Aged Spice and poured it into the Old Spice mug that I have been saving soap scraps in. There was the ring around the bottom of the mug from the tail end of some Williams, a few bits of Mama Bear bath soaps (Aged Spice, Orange Orange, and Energy) that were two small to use, and a sliver of Irish Spring. All these bits just floated in the Aged Spice.

About two weeks ago I was getting an odd wear pattern in the top of the puck where three different soaps were exposed and wearing at different rates. I grated the whole thing up with a cheese grater and nuked it in the microwave. It's still not a homogenous soap. There are clearly bits of Williams floating about in the previously melt and pour Mama Bear Soaps. It lathers good and still smells like the Aged Spice, but seems a bit thirsty. I assume that's the Williams asserting itself. I suspect the Mama Bear soap will continue to wear away so that I'll be left with a bunch of little Williams pebbles in the bottom of the mug. I'll just melt and pour the end of something else into it at that point, probably some Colonel Conk bay rum that I'll be working on through the fall months.

1 Irisch Moos stick + 2 La Toja sticks

= Some of the greatest lather I've ever used and a toned down Irisch Moos scent.

My mom gave me a zip lock bag of left over shaving soap disks none over 3/8's of an inch thick. I grated them into a OS mug and made a puck. It was vintage Williams and Colgate. Thanks Grandpaw he's been gone since 1983 but Momma fould his jar of left overs and I get to shave with it.

I just recently made a mixture of five veggie soaps. It's my first "frankensoap", the mixture includes plisson, provence sante green tea, provence sante verlaine, pre de provence, and istitut karite.

I've lost track of everything in my Frankensoap, since there at least 10 ingredients, but it is roughly 2/3 tallow and 1/3 glycerine based. It's a great soap with a nice smell I couldn't begin to describe. Lathers well, super slick.

When I come to the end of a soap I will just put a new one on top . Sometime I'll mix a little cream. Last combo was Williams and Jagger Sandalwood to that I added Erasmic cream. I also added a little Cella to the Williams ,Jagger combo as well. Now I threw it all out and I am at 100% Cella.

Kindred spirit here, I have pretty much the same deal going. I keep tossing odds and ends of soap into the bowl and it all slowly gets assimilated into the Borg soap.
