Not much going on yesterday so SWMBO and I decided to hit an antique swap meet and burn some B-day money.
Well here's what forty bucks gets you in the wild if the fates are kind.
First off this trio, D-4 Fat Boy-5.00,B-3 Red Tip-5.00 and the D-4 Executive-10.00
The Executive seems to have seized adjustment fingers and is currently soaking and the Fat Boy is in great shape save for some heavy brassing in the blade tray itself.
The next one is the uber-haul one of the militaria guys had this bad boy sitting out with no price but figured what the hey and asked the price.
I was quoted 20.00 and maybe he should have been concerned when not even halfway through his "World War 2 razors like this are more expensive on Ebay...." sales pitch I was fishing out the double sawbuck.
Actual WW1 issue Khaki Set with a J prefix serial# and usable shaving mirror, the plating is completely intact with only one minor crack near the ball
The khaki on the case is intact but a little stained and appears to be complete except the thumbtacks for the mirror have gone their own way.
While not part of the Uber-haul of yesterday here's a few other recent additions
Late 20's Combination set, looks to be complete save for missing one of the blade banks and obviously the case.
35.00 during a lunch break antique shop raid.
And my Father In Law's Y-3 Super Speed, according to my Mother In Law Dad got this one right before they were married and that he started making good bucks at Kraft so rapidly replaced it with a Norelco.
once the shave foam scum was cleaned away it is very minty.
