Antique Razor found - Info needed please

yes, it's from sheffield, that's what the stamp says :)
the scales are bone.

i don't know anything else.

My Mother said it belonged to my grandfather and she thought his dad may have given it to him.

It's a keeper for sure. I have razors from my dad, granddad and great granddad....Keep sakes, each one of them.....Treasure it!

It's a keeper and it totally looks like it can be shaved with if it gets honed.

My recommendation would be to get a cheapy starter straight to learn the practice on (just in case it gets dropped dinged or damaged) and after you're confident in your abilities with the starter, get that guy honed up and use it .

great looking blade - especially with its family connection.

I did a brief look about its maker, theres a brief mention of it in an 1857 sheffield directory "Warner Joseph Sims, steel converter and refiner, razor and cutlery mfr., Hecla"
