another replated New, this time long comb

I was enjoying my short comb New so much, I had begun searching for a the long comb to try and compare. I hope I'm not off base mentioning an ebay seller, or if this one is persona non grata here mods will edit with my thanks, but this one and my other replated razors came from ocrazorman. Just felt like his work deserves some credit as the three replated razors in rhodium I've now bought from him have all been flawlessly done.

It seems like from what I've read opinions are just about evenly divided between the long comb and short comb New heads, as to which feels smoother. Having one shave with the long comb now, I'm thinking it feels a little smoother shaving than the short comb. The difference in feel is pretty tiny though, both have a great intuitive feel. My short comb was delivered with a fat tech handle, and I slightly prefer that handle to the bar handle on this one. What I would like even more is a still more slim handle. Can anyone comment whether a ball end tech handle will work with these heads?

Yes, the ball-end tech handle will thread onto those heads. I went the other way though. I get better shaves with a Muhle handle on my LC New vs. the bar handle that came with it.

I'm pretty new to this, but my NEW LC bar handle is my favorite (out of my meager collection of techs, SS's, OLDs). I have thought of trying it with my fat tech handle... glad to hear it's a nice combination. Maybe someday I'll get my NEW replated along with the fat tech handle... hmm...

The ball end handle is probably the most comfortable handle for me. I prefer the ball end to the fat handles. And it fits the long comb head perfectly.

Those are gorgeous! Here is a LC NEW that has a slimmer handle. Shown in the middle of a ball end handle and a regular NEW handle. I think your ball end tech handle will work though. It seems from what I can tell the SC NEW's came with a smaller flare on the handle that doesn't mate well with a LC NEW. Some of the seniors (more knowledgeable, not older lol..) can add more.

Thanks for the replies all! I have an orphan ball end tech handle on the way, might send it out for replating as well to match for use on the News. I actually have a ball end tech in the collection but it's loaned out to a new convert at the moment to try out so I couldn't just grab it and see if it would thread on. Grateful once again for the help of B&B saving me delay in waiting to put it to the test! Great looking razors as well, TDA003. I really love the look of rhodium on these razors. Great pic too CB1, it's interesting how many handle variations there were over the span of the New razors. I had no idea there were two versions of the bar handle until seeing them compared here.
