I found this old educational film that Sheaffer made about the history of writing, and the development and function of the fountain pen. Hope you like it.
anyone else notice the "messy" hand writing is still better then your own ? that was a good video, but i need to go practice now, dont want teacher mad at me
I liked seeing the example of shorthand transcription. But I won't try copying the pen grip of most of their writers. Some of them looked like they had a real death grip on the pen. Certainly not like that recommended by Spencerian penmanship experts.
For those interested in books on this subject, I can recommend two:
* Henry Petroski, "Pencil"
* Kitty Burns Florey, "Script and Scribble; the Rise and Fall of Handwriting"
