Amazon and Mertz.NEVER AGAIN!

I have deleted this post. This is not the appropriate place to discuss my own dissatisfaction with a transaction.

Amazon is known for its occasional bloopers. I have seen expensive items listed for a tenth of the price. They never honor the misprints. I think there’s something about it in the contract you sign. Just send the brush back. Thankfully, Amazon has free returns.

Due to the way some sellers handle things on Amazon, this may have in fact been Amazon's responsibility. Perhaps you should have contacted them to see if they would make it good. Amazon is pretty good that way.

But your frustration with Mertz is understandable. It is in the best interest of the company to make this thing right. There is no profit in pissing off the consumer over a few bucks. Even though it may have been Amazon's issue, Mertz could have, and in my opinion, should have taken care of this for you. As you noted, this has been listed this way for a while. Are you the first person to notice? If so, Mertz is taking the hit on one brush--a fair punishment for not being aware of their listings on Amazon. If someone had noticed it before and contacted Mertz, then Mertz hasn't properly taken care of the issue, so once again, fair punishment for them.

That happened to me with a bottle of Egoiste. They sent me deodorant instead of the listed EdT. I sent it back for a refund--but they changed the listing within a day. Sounds like this has been listed this way for quite a while.

While you definitely were not given good service by the seller, please remember that here at B&B we are all ladies and gentlemen. Thanks!:thumbup1:

Errors happen, and I can't take sides without seeing the conversations.
It does seem you were rather aggressive/hostile at the start, but whatever, stuff like this happens.
Had something similar happen with GNC and some powder.

I still feel that companies should take care of customers. Good customer service goes a long way. If you would have had a better experience, you might be on here praising that company and telling us we should buy from them instead of telling us not to buy from them.

It seems clear to me that the error was Amazon's and I think Mertz's response was completely reasonable. I would have done the same thing in the same situation. Why should Mertz take a loss due to another party's error? If you're going to be angry at anybody, it should be Amazon.

It is interesting that you noticed the quantity go down, so it is possible that Mertz may have been aware of the problem. I purchased a Big Wheel for my son and after receiving it, learned it was missing crucial parts and overall, it was generally a piece of crap. My wife put in a negative review and was contacted almost immediately by Amazon. They take their ratings quite seriously and asked if we'd change our review in exchange for a refund. We edited our review and had a refund within an hour. Perhaps you should "review" your purchase on the listing.

Pricing mistakes happen all the time. Sometimes they go through, and sometimes they don't. What's that old saying about something looking too good to be true?

Gotta love capitalizing all sorts of words in a post. That really brought it home for me. :wink2:

This was my thought as well. Company offers a full refund due to a 3rd party mistake and OP wants to make it his mission in life to bad mouth them? I am always leary when people post in all caps...this one validates my concerns.

For what it's worth, I agree that they should have made it right for you. They make plenty off of their alliance with Amazon, and with that comes the responsibility to cover the errors of their agents.

Is the "Mertz" you mention the same as Merz Apothecary in Chicago? If so, can anyone comment on their brick and mortar store? I will be near there tomorrow and planned to stop in.
