Alternative to Feather with 2013 R41

Good Morning B & B!!

Today in my quest for the perfect shave, I am trying to improve by finding the right blade for my 2013 Muhle R41. To preface, before the R41 I used an R89 which worked fine for me with Feather blades. When I switched to the R41 what a world of a difference in closeness of the shave.

What I've come to find, is that the daily use of a feather blade in my R41 is beating the crap out of my face. There will be no visible redness however during the day it feels like I have set my face on fire and when I look in the mirror I'm expecting to see a break out of razor burn. I've also began getting more nicks than normal. I believe where the R89 was less aggressive, my face could handle the sharp feather blade but with the R41 it became too much.

I decided to give a SuperMax Platinum a try in my R41. My face feels much better with no nicks, however I am not sold on the closeness of the shave. Does anyone recommend a sharp blade that tends to be rather forgiving on the face??? I have also tried:

Gillette Green Pack (loved in my r89 yet to try in R41)

Bic Stainless (Wasn't aggressive enough in my r89 but smooth shave.. yet to try in R41)

Merkur (Absolutely hated, wouldn't consider trying in R41)

I've used Iridium Super, Gillette Blue, Black, Green from India and Silver-Blue in my 2013 R41, and all behaved excellent. Never used a Feather, as I don't like this blade.

While I can use a Feather in my DE89 with no problems, it just does not work for me in my R41 (2013). I have the same burning issue, doesn't look bad, just feels bad.

I switched to a Gillette Silver Blue, and have no problems. I am trying a Personna Med Prep next to see how that one works.

IMO, good blades that have the same sort of sharpness characteristics as feathers:
Gillette Silver Blues and 7 o'clock yellows. From what I hear, 7 o'clock permasharps (Indian greens) as well.

I favor Kai's to feather, IMHO they are just as sharp only much smoother. I also get a few more shaves out of them. My other favorite is the Super Iridium...Sharp, smooth, very long lasting (at least for me) and a good value as they are half the price of a Kai.
