Hi everyone
Sorry if this has been discussed before: I just used a test set of Alt-Innsbruck constisting of a mini-bottle of cologne and a small pump-dispenser of pre- and aftershave emulsion.
The cologne smells extremely sweet to me. In fact it's nearly unearably sweet to my nostrils (a british friend of mine would use the term 'sickly sweet'). I imagine it's the kind of perfume a cheap brothel owner would supply in large buckets for his staff. I plan to get rid of this bottle as soon as possible.
I was then amazed to find out that the emulsion smells quite different. While I can detect some parallels in the base notes this smells strongly of citrus and I find it quite nice.
Is there really such a big difference between the two products or have I received a decant of something else (it's not marked, so I can't be certain there's really Alt-Innsbruck in there)?
Thanks for your answers. And for you Alt-Innsbruck fans, please don't flame me, maybe I've just bad taste.
Florian
