Aldi Ambiano Goose Neck Electric Water Kettle

Anyone have any experience with these? I have now had a couple go bad on me. One after many months and the other after just one or so. The lights go out and it will not turn on. I have tried unplugging it and plugging it back in. I did not see anything in the handbook that came with it about how to reset it or anything. Seemed great when it worked. Heat quickly. Poured nicely. I did not test for accurate temp or anything.

As I recall these were $30 or less. Any other similarly priced goose neck electric kettles out there I should be considering?

Never mind. The problem seems to have been in the wall plug and/or the surge suppressor I was using, even though the light on the surge suppressor was on brightly. I have already throwen away one base. It may still be at the bottom of my trash! Yuck!
