Aftershaves without menthol?

I'm looking for a nice clean smelling after shave. Unfortunately my skin doesn't react well to menthol, so I have to avoid that ingredient, which kicks out many of the Aqua Velva splashes. I currently have clubman, old spice pure sport & classic. I know the AV musk doesn't have menthol, so I may pick that one up next time im out.

Does anyone know the ingredients of the AV Original Sport (green bottle)? I have a feeling it contains menthol, but I'm not sure.

Also, any without menthol suggestions? Cheap would be nice too

You might like 4711. The scent is mostly citrus, and short-lived - at least on me. The wiki page 4711_Aftershave lists ingredients, which do not include menthol.

But as you have probably figured out, menthol is common in AS. Even Speick has a little of the stuff, though too little for me to notice. One option is to make your own: that could be as simple as witch hazel plus some scent, or as complicated as you like.

Green AV definitely has menthol. A lot of the Master and Booster aftershaves don't have any menthol.

Give Bay rum, special reserve, or "The Veg" a try.

Most vintage Avon aftershaves do not have menthol. Bay Rum scents usually do not have menthol.

I think I'll pick up some AV Musk next time I'm out, its cheap so why not give it a shot? Nothing to lose, except cabinet space lol. Also ordered some 4711 today, along with a wee scot! Thanks for the suggestion mblakele. On a side note, I just had my best shave by far using a tabac stick and face lathering. Anyone who hasn't tried face lathering should give it a shot!

Off topic, but dcobranchi, is that a samoyed in your avatar? Love those dogs, gf and I are thinking about getting one eventually. The pups are ridiculous. They don't even look real.

You can't go wrong with the AV Musk. Is there anyone who doesn't like it?! Also, try the Lucky Tiger Aspen. It is blue but without menthol and very clean smelling. I suspect it may end up becoming your favorite aftershave.

People may hate on me for mentioning Floid Black, but I can't detect any menthol in it. I have used it on several occasions at is has become a heavy hitter in my arsenal... But compared to Floid Blue or the Vigorouso (I know I spelled that incorrectly) I can detect none. I think the scent is very good, along with what the AS does for your skin. Scent lasts a long time also. I know a lot of people do not care for the scent at all, but I am only submitting this comment because of the no menthol focus.
