AE Kenilworth owners?

I'm looking at getting a pair of Kenilworths, but there are a number of negative reviews on the AE site that have me concerned. Anyone buy a pair recently? Are they up to the usual AE level of excellence?

Nice looking, standard issue blucher. I'd go to their store to try them on.

Some of what was written sounds like there was a qc issue at the time. Worth noting is the Customer Service's response.

I don't doubt that AE would take care of you, but obviously would like to avoid the hassle. I thought I had read somewhere that some issues like the "bowing" have to do with how the Kenilworth is designed. There are reviews elsewhere that are the typical glowing AE reviews, so maybe it was just a bad run. I was trying to take advantage of the Endless 20% off sale, but I might have time to hit Nordstrom today.
