Advice on 6 shooter please

Hi, i have been straight razor shaving for a week or so and i absolutely love it. The transition has been very easy only 2 tiny cuts in a week. I have been using a brush for a number of years and have just spoted 1 i would love to buy. Shave nation sell 1 called the 6 shooter. It is a pistol revolver with real shells in as the handle and a badger brush. Can anyone tell me if this is a good brush? I currently use an art of shaving badger which i love but the 6 shooter is stunning. I look forward to hearing your thoughts. Thanks

Geofatboy used one in his latest video, he said it had quite a good knot - to me it's a very ugly brush.

but beauty is in the eye of the beholder :)

If this is going to be your 2nd brush I would recommend you stick with something more conventional.

Once you have a dozen or more brushes, then you can start "experimenting" with the unusual and bazaar.

It certainly is not one that I would spend $150 for. The description of the knot is simply Knot Size: 24mm Silvertip Badger, and *Removable Shave Brush – great for cleaning or replacement brush The other 30 odd lines of their description is used to outline the history , philosophy of the company and details of the handle; no mention of loft, backbone and so on. I cannot find where they list the replacement brush .

It is something that you could probably make yourself. I expect that gunsmiths may have used revolver parts that are no longer suitable for their original intended use. Any machine shop, and most home shops with a drill press could drill out the knot socket, and a $30 knot and $5 of epoxy would finish the task

It has caught your eye and the brush itself should be fine. You are paying a premium for how it is mounted but we all make handle material and style choices. You like it and can afford it so you should give it a shot. Congratulations on your smooth transition to straights.

+1, if you like it then that is all that matters, I have only heard a couple reviews and they were positive. For people who are into guns it would be a nice fit.

This will be my 4th brush but i only use 1 at the moment. I am ex British army and i just like the look of it. I may try and make 1 myself but i think it looks fantastic and would be a great conversation peice.

there are 2 knot options. 24mm and 20mm. The 24 is silver tip badger and the 20 is super badger or so i have been informed.

You could probably make one at 1/3 the cost, a good TGN Silver-tip will be ~$20-30 depending on Knot size and Silver-Tip Grade; Standard - Grade A.
