Advice needed: TOBS, DR Harris og Clubman bay rum

I’m in need of advice as to which bay rum cologne or aftershave I should buy. I’ve made a list (see below) and would greatly appreciate your thoughts on the quality of the scent (is it too synthetic etc.?) as well as staying power.
  • TOBS Bay Rum
  • D.R. Harris Bay Rum
  • Lustray Bay Rum
  • Clubman Virgin Island Bay Rum
  • Geo F Trumper Bay Rum
- or perhaps another brand?

Oh, and it should be available to buy in the EU.

I am not an expert on Bay Rum, but I have and enjoy the Harris Bay Rum After Shave. I like the scent and the feel of the stuff but the scent is not long-lasting on me.

None. Buy Ogallala Bay Rum!

It's great, it's priced more along the lines of the Clubman than the TOBS, which is a blessing, except WAY better than the Clubman.

And you'll be supporting a small business to boot!

I have only smelled the Trumpers Bay Rum. I really think it smells like cloves. Would I be correct? Also, do other bay rums smell of cloves?

I can only compare Ogallala Bay Rum and Sandalwood AS with Trumpers Bay Rum (from a sampler). Trumpers definitely has the clove smell to me that I don't get with the Ogallala.

Bay Rums generally come either loaded with spices, or consist of just Bay Oil. I lean more towards favoring the non-spicy Bay Rum aftershaves.

Of the spicy ones, I use and like C.O. Bigelow Bay Rum Balm. Of the just Bay Oil versions, I use and like Masters Bay Rum and Superior 70 Bay Rum. I don't know the EU availability of these products.

There is also Dominica Bay Rum and Royall Bay Rhum, neither of which I have tried.

FWIW, I have read that Lustray Bay Rum is a poor representative of Bay Rum aftershaves.

I get a lot of clove from the Ogallala Sandalwood.
