Advice for a Frag to wear at a wedding.

Hi all,

I'm sure this has been posted before so my apologies. I'm going to a fairly high end wedding this Saturday, and it's indoors (as well as the reception). Trying to figure out what to wear at this occasion. I'll just be sitting with the GF at the mass and reception so don't need anything super expensive but want to wear something that's appropriate.

Should I wear something that's gives off a classy, sophisticated but subtle scent or something that's a bit fun and unique. It will probably be a long night of drinking and dancing so I'm looking for something with a bit of staying power.

Any suggestions?

Since you'll likely be in a suit, yet sitting close quarters in a crowd for a time, I'd probably opt for the classy yet subtle. I might go with something like GIT. Smells great but won't offend aunt Hilda sitting behind you.

I think it depends on a type of person that you are or you would like to present. I would go for the first option (subtle...). Some Chanel maybe...

Well these are friends of my GF so I don't do anything with them socially except for the occasional dinner, but I do want to make a good impression obviously. I will be wearing a suit, tie the whole shebang to this occasion.

Sounds to me like you'd want to wear something classy. Do you already own some frags that you can choose from, or are you specifically wanting to get something new? If you have it, or want to try something new, I'd suggest Tiffany for Men, which you can pick up at any Tiffany store. A 1.7 oz bottle is $60, and a 3.4 oz bottle is $95. It's a very classy scent, safe to wear in close quarters, and you'll get a lot of use out of it in the future, too.

Well like most members here I have a decent collection of frags on hand. The GF wants me to wear Acqua di gio, it's not my favorite but was wondering if that's appropriate? Guess I'm just finding an excuse to buy a good summer frag (LOL).

Also I was at Marshalls the other day and saw a bottle of Brooks Brothers New York Gentlemen for around $30.00 for a 1.7oz bottle. Was wondering if anyone has tried it? The disussion on bassnotes.net said it has kind of a citrusy smell and is a pretty decent if you can find it for around $25.00.

My previous suggestions were because I like to wear incense frags in church. Although Avignon in a Catholic Church might be too redundant :)

If you're looking for an excuse to buy something at a reasonable price, I'll suggest PdN New York. You can get a 30ml bottle for $45 and it's very classic and refined and will hang in there for a long night as well.

Well I was at Marshalls today after work and they had the Brooks Brothers New York Gentleman for $20.00. I decided to take the plunge and glad I did, very nice stuff. Very subtle with hints of citrus and an hint of vanilla. Bassnotes.net was spot on, also agree that it might not have a lot of staying power. But worth a look if you come across a bottle.
