I'm a few shaves in with my new Futur and I'm wondering when is the best time to alter the setting. Is it with the blade out, blade in or mid shave? Or doesn't it matter? Thanks in advance.

I don't think it matters but you have to be careful adusting with the blade in, some stories on here about people with sliced thumbs adjusting with wet fingers, the best way for me is to put your index and middle finger under each side of the head with your thumb on the top, squeezing your thumb and fingers together a little takes the pressure off the spring making it easier to turn, you can start with a higher setting for the first pass and dial it down for the next passes, i have not been brave enough to try mine at 6 yet though, i like a high setting for my neck as it gets a bit closer without going against the grain, i get irritation going against the grain on my neck, then turn it down to do the rest of my face.
I don't think it matters, either. When I adjust my Futur, I hold the head in a facecloth to retain my ability to count up to 10 on my fingers.
