What's new

Ad-killer [well, that's the idea anyway]

After deciding that I'm going to stick with G-Shocks from now on, Ive decided to get one more (just one!) to put my AD to bed and have more or less decided on the Riseman in grey. Anyone have any horror stories about this being the only G-Shock you can't depend on? Anyone got one and is really satisfied? I'm not usually a huge digital watch fan, but having seen it in the flesh, I think I can say that this one in no way looks cheap or nasty, but instead is obviously a serious piece of kit. Thoughts/ opinions?

If G-Shocks are your thing, this seems to be the perfect one, meaning it does pretty much everything without breaking the bank. I am not a fan of digital watches, but other than that it looks great.

i'll have to side with you. i'm not a watch guy by any stretch of the imagination, but when i first saw the riseman, it became my must have watch. still saving up, but hopefully in the next 5 years i'll have one.

it's so hard to save money with all this shaving stuff i need to buy!

It definitely has real "G-Shockiness", I think. I think its just a question of black or blue-grey. I must admit, there is a geek-factor to digitals, but this one looks pretty serious.

I 'm not a digital fan either the only one I have is a Yes watch but to me a G shock is a G shock even though they make them at all price points and some cost serious cash. Most of the features are never used anyway.

For a real beater, well they can't be beat.

I am not a fan of the digital either. I do have a Timex that is strapped to my water bottle for the gym so I can keep track of my rest time. Other than that I don't use it.

This looks like a good watch. Lots of features, if that is what you want.

Now getting a crush on this one as well. What's wrong with me? This is half the price with the same sort of look. I was amazed to discover ther've been over 2,000 models in the last 25 years

I just bought my first G-Shock and I am loving it. Here it is:

Believe it or not, this was the exact model I'd planned to get until I saw it up close. It manages to look good on my medium-sized wrist, despite the fact that its really very big, but the hands just don't have the authority they need for such an impressive piece, IMHO. Its such a shame really. I'm currently wearing this one below, which I think is much better balanced, tho the image is overexposed, making it look less classy than it looks. I adore the case-shape, which is classically beefy, but considered and uber-functional. I only wish they'd've left out the sweeping bar thing at the top and left it in classc chrono config, cos there's really no need for it.

That said.....the XL in pure black does look very good.
