My wife found this at a garage sale this weekend, which brought up some questions. Were razor blades thicker 30 or 40 years ago? Could you sharpen them because they didn't have any extra coatings on them? I'm still pretty new to all this, but I'm having fun learning about history, etc.

Got this Swedish SSA Eskiltuna from local auction site for 10 EUR. I was going to make a hobby knife from it but maybe I just make custom scales for it and polish it for a daily shaver.

Saxmoore, razor blades were broader 70-ish years ago but from then on classic razor blades haven't changed. I'd say use it for fun but today classic razor blades are much more inexpensive than they were in depression/WW2 era.

Picked up a bottle of Masters Bay Rum.
Very distinct clove scent to it, and leaves my face feeling somewhat sticky.
I like it though scent is longer lasting than Pinauds.

Not exactly new, but newly cleaned, polished and reassembled. I got this case with a mismatched tech in it, but after some investigating, I think it was a standard kit for a 1920's vintage single ring (correct me if I'm wrong). So I found some correct blade cases and a silver plated single ring that polished up like the Dickens!

But the truth is not as good as the photos look, the razor handle is fully split from stem to stern, which you would see if I turned the razor over!

Still it looks nice on the shelf!

I got my order from B&BW today. Two bottles of C.O. Bigelow Bay Rum Cologne; buy one get one free. I look at the first box, see a sort of water stain, and open it up...Of course the glass is shattered. The cologne soaked through the box and was all over the invoice. However, the second bottle still made it. I would exchange it online to get a new bottle, but they're out, so I'll go to the local store and try for a partial refund.

There have been several threads posted on hones and honing for DE blades - just use the search facility and they will pop up!
