Acqua di Parma's British Roots

An interesting short article on AdP and its inspiration in England.

It was during frequent trips to London in the early 1900s that founder and bon vivant Count Carlo Magnani discovered St James’s institution Geo. F. Trumper on Curzon Street, that masculine emporium of oak panelling and elegant buffalo horn shaving kits that stills exists today.

Interesting story. I really enjoy the scent of AdP but do not enjoy the price or performance of the soap. It's way too expensive and is not protective or slick, imo. I generally only purchase dupes of the scent but I do use the AdP aftershave. My skin reacts better to splashes than balms and, well, I really like the scent.

Based on the article, it seems like AdP is more interested in selling an image than a line of good products. Not a fan of that; I'm always a function over form type person. Probably won't repurchase the splash when mine runs out, but I don't use much anyway so it will probably last a while.
