What's new

A wild thought that goes against the laws of nature...

Anyone ever thought of wanting a boar/silvertip badger brush?:wacko: I don't know but for some reason I would be interested in such a combination. I haven't played a whole lot with some pure badger/boar mix brushes I've bought, but they seem to hold promise, and just make me think of such a combination.

Always thought boar brushes would be harsh on the skin and am very sensitive to just about everything, but no such thing. Imagine the silky goodness of some silvertip and the nice light scrubbing of some good boar hair... :001_tt1:

Pretty far out there perhaps, but just wondering if any others have had the same thoughts? For myself I'd want one made with a 23mm knot, a 50mm bristle loft, and a 50mm handle. Or pretty much A Grosvenor.

I would think that the silvertip hairs would be overpowered by the boar and make it an expensice option with little benefit from the badger. I suspect there is just too much of a contrast for it to be worth it.

Just my 2¢.

Maybe the better question would be is, how would I even go about with making such a purchase? Not going to find any normal vendors that carry such an item.

Need to be a risk taker in some way, never did much of that as a kid by doing stupid things. Gotta find some way for my wild side to come out! :wink2:

Seems to me that there would be some scrubbing from the boar hair and the badger would help maintain more water. Just sounds like a good idea.

Google search for Boar Badger combination brush.

I really like the Omega 21047 (see this thread). It's a badger boar mix (although I don't think there's any silvertip in there). However, it is a very small brush.

Yeah I got that little guy and this one. I can't say I prefer them over some of my bigger brushes, but they interest me still and have to use them once a week and a shave with one.

I have a little too much time on my hands if I can think up of new brush types no one sells. :wink2:

I have seen mixed badger/boar brushes... but I think they are just Pure badger hair mixed with boar. maybe higher grade, but I doubt it would be silver tip mixed with boar.

Shoebox Shaving has them. I think all the ones are out of stock currently though.
