Is this the same knot as in the original L'Occitane brush made by Plisson?? I think I have some of them left in my shop. Used to buy them and re-handled the knots, as the handles were really crappy and the wood split easily; many of my customers then had me make them a new handle.I had to get this one custom made because they had stopped offering the blond fiber knot on their website.
Unfortunately, they are now completely out of blond knots and cannot even make a custom order with it.
I hear the newer synthetic knot has more "scritch" than this one.
I like a softer knot so I hope this brush will last me a long, long time.
Are there fake ones? Some made elsewhere besides France?

Yes I think it’s the same one, or at least very similar. I had bought 2 of the L’occitane ones. One of them came apart and I gave it away to someone here that put it in a new handle for someone they knew. L’occitane sent me another. So I had several years with each until the handles started peeling. Nowadays I’m much more careful with the brush drying it out after each use (I wasn’t doing that before). Is this the same knot as in the original L'Occitane brush made by Plisson?? As I understand it, "Plisson" it a brand name out of France. They are the only ones who can use/write "Plisson" on their brushes. Anything else is a knockoff, copy or at best Plisson-ish Plisson-like. That said the one I own is not my favorite brush lolAre there fake ones? Some made elsewhere besides France?

Amazing collection. What are the two in the middle on the bottom row ?I love Plissons. My favourite brushes. The High Mountain White badgers, in particular, are extremely luxurious - soft, flexible, not dense. Expensive, though, but nobody else makes them like this any more. Here is a pic with most of mine.

On the bottom row, the second one is a size 14 HMW with tortoiseshell acetate handle (least expensive handle), and the third on is a size 12 HMW with Santos Rosewood handle.Amazing collection. What are the two in the middle on the bottom row ?
The tortoise shell looks a lot darker than it does on the Plisson site. But all brushes look great. On the bottom row, the second one is a size 14 HMW with tortoiseshell acetate handle (least expensive handle), and the third on is a size 12 HMW with Santos Rosewood handle.
