A rare new find in Japan!

I have been to literally hundreds of drug stores over the years in Japan on my quest for something new. I thought I had seen it all and then last night I find this little gem sitting on a dusty shelf, crying out to be bought. Gentlemen, I give you 9 O'Clock by Kanebo. Smells unreservedly old school...will try it over the next few days and pass on my impressions.　T'was a good night in the hot and sweaty city of Osaka. やった！

I'm going to Japan on Sunday, I'm going to try and out-sleuth Dave, and find the dustiest, most forgottenest bottle of aftershave ever.

If that fails, I'll pick up a bottle of MANDOM, like I usually do....

Tried it a few times and me likey. It just smells like old school Japan circa 1971 (of course that will make no sense to most). It is a bit of a mix of Bravas and Mandom...quite strong but nice. And by God does it sting...though only for about 3 seconds then it's all smoooooth sailing.

The bad news is that I've only ever seen it once in my years of searching....hen's teeth and all that...

I think there was another bottle or two there (I was in a big rush with wife and kid in tow) but the store itself is a good hour from my place. May just be worth it though...

I just saw it in a new department store in Naha, but I didn't buy any. I'll pick up a bottle next time I get down there.

I can add a couple of comments on other ones I've just tried. I got a bottle of Valcan Blue, which seems to be an almost unscented version of the green/amber Valcan. I also bought Tactics in both after shave and cologne. I like it a lot and I'll post a review when I get a chance (might not be for a while).
