A Little German Goodness

I was in Germany briefly today and managed to pick up a few things at one of the chemists (drugstores) in Konstanz. Being involved in the Cade Challenge this month means that I won't use the soaps for a little while, but it was nice to be able to stock up- and this stuff is good value!

I'm in the same boat. I ordered a Speick Shave stick that arrived after I had started the Cade challenge. I look forward to giving it a try when the Cade is through.

Speick is so good, all their products are superior. Im actually slightly more partial to the shave cream than i am the stick.

Just curious--can you not buy this in Switzerland, or is it just cheaper in Germany? What is available in Zurich for shaving?

The Palmolive stick is available here but I have not seen the Speick products on shelves for a long time. In any case, this sort of stuff is normally much cheaper in Germany than here in Switzerland.
In Zürich at least there is a reasonable amount of shaving gear available- a couple of the department stores stock some razors (both straight and DE), brushes and bits and pieces. There is a dedicated shaving store which has a nice selection of stuff (albeit well overpriced) and I recently found a Turkish supermarket which stocks Derby blades, cheap DEs and Arko soap sticks.

Nice David!

I didn't like Speick myself (scent) but it does work well!

Speick is so far the only lather that my wife has walked by and said "mmmmm, smells good." I'm partial to rose and almond scents and proraso myself, but I like Speick too and if it gets LOTH's blessing, then hey... gotta go with it!
