A day in Newark (no, not that one)

Landed at Heathrow a few minutes after 7am, London time (2am EDT). Got through Passport Control & was at baggage pickup by 7:30am, damn near a miracle, as it was over any hour in line at Passport Control when I went there 5 years ago. Cousin Richard had a friend who drives for a living pick me up. Took 'til 11am to get to Newark-on-Trent.
Had a nice nap, then we went out for a few beers (ales, actuallyl) at one of his pubs. Hit a Vietnamese restaurant for dinner after; very good, we will be going back next week (yeah, it was that good).
Heading back down South to Warwick tomorrow for the folk festival. Pics of that tomorrow.
Here's a few shots from today.

The car's a Morris Minor or 1000. Beloved of vicars. Used to have the van version! There again, I'm a Brit...

Unfair ;-). Morris Minor 1000 is correct. You're only about 120 miles away.

By the way, I envy you. I hope to make it over there one day.
I'll say one thing about the Brits, they are so friendly they would be arrested if being friendly was illegal.
Plus they have some awesome beers & ales. Nothing like it in the States.
