What's new

A bit of Darwin memorabilia.

I like to get bits pieces to match my razors. so for 99 pence I thought why not......Well it arrived today and I thought I had just purchased a wrapper. But to my surprise it was wrapper, inner waxed wrapper and blade !
I know this should be in the blade section but as we have been gathering info about Darwins in the D.E section I thought this might be of interest to you?
I like the inner wrapper, boy did the manufacturer have confidence in his product. Also you can see how he got around the Gillette patent, one long slot not 3 holes?

Thanks for posting your blade. I did the same thing when I got my first Darwin razor, though I never thought about taking pictures of it until this post of yours today. It led to an interesting discovery that has been under my nose since I bought my first Darwin.

First some pictures of my red wrapper blade.

I love their motto!

I was amazed to see all the countries they held patents in.

Some more pictures of the red wrapper blade and my discovery.

The first Darwin I bought was a cased minty Darwin Deluxe that included one blade.....

This blade is stamped Darwin Limited and looks to predate ownership by Fitzwilliam Works.

It is also stamped with the year 1930. This is the closest I have come to pinning down the year that my Darwin Deluxe model was made! :thumbup1:

Great pictures, folks. How does it shave, Connie?:biggrin1:

Very niccccee!!!

It is a fairly aggressive razor. A Feather blade feels a little too harsh for my taste. I love a sharp and smooth blade in it such as a Super Iriduim.
