$5 Gold Adjustable slim

Here is a before and after. I thought this was an executive but is really a gold plated slim. The doors would open but the adjusment would not move. It came back to life with a nice long bath and scrubbing with Mr. Bubbles and a tooth brush and some work to remove the scum in the adjuster area. It needs to be polished.

I got very lucky at a big antique mall in AL. This was one of only three razors total.
My first find in the wild!:001_smile

It seems inflation did not get the better of your razor.

This one cost me more than $5 though.

Clean it up, use it, post pics of how it turns out.

WOW,

I did not know the Aristocrats were adjustable. I will put it into rotation next week, I am using a vintage Merkur Slant right now and really like it.

Actually, with tax it was $5.50, sticker was the same as yours.

And, my that is a very nice razor you have there:drool::drool:

It is really brilliant on the part of Gillette, take a Slim, plate in gold and give it a nice box, call it an Aristocrat, sell razors for more $.
No need to change the production lines, already have the gold plating available, make more money anyway.

This is the only Aristocrat that is adjustable. Gillette made Aristocrat models starting with the Old Type and probably made 10 different razors with that name. They were all top of the line and some were extremely ornate.
