What's new

2010 resolutions

The new year is almost upon us. Have you any resolutions or better yet lifestyle changes that you are going to plan and fulfill in the new year?

I am sure that losing weight may be at the top of the list, quit beating your wife is probably in there, too. Are you going to move slowly to a healthier way of living? Vacation goals? Career moves?

It will be interesting to here them.

nope, not me, thats a great personal skill that i have developed, and i intend to perfect it over the coming year....

seriously, i dont do resolutions....they are a load of rubbish - if you really want to do something, then i say just do it, and have the backbone to stick with it.....but thats just my opinion.....:biggrin1:

I'd like to finally quit biting my nails. I've failed at this one countless times. But the new year is enough reason to give it another try.

Losing weight would be nice. Not sure when I'll find the time to hit the gym though. In past years I've tried forcing myself to wake up early, disconnecting the snooze button (really), and dragging my butt outside for a jog and a healthy breakfast, but that was a bit ambitious and failed after a couple weeks. I'd rather focus on being able to get out of bed at a sensible, consistent time and being productive in the mornings.

Not really getting my hopes up for that one right now though. Perhaps I'll be able to carpe the diem with a little more gusto after I finally graduate (not really a resolution, because it's 99.9% inevitable to happen in the next 6 months) and move on with my life.

Mine are few:

1) Savor each and every moment with my wife and son
2) Quit Copenhagen
3) Drink more water
4) Start some weight training

Typically I don't do resolutions. I try hard to change things about myself when I realize they need changing. I'd prefer to just do it as I go along. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Anyway, this year may be a bit of a different scenario, though. I have just (within the past few weeks) accepted a job in coastal South Carolina. I've lived in Montana for a year now, working as an Americorps VISTA volunteer with a Boys and Girls Club here on the Northern Cheyenne Indian reservation. I move in a little over two weeks, so my new year will inherently bring an entirely new life for me. I've taken my first 'real' job, and I look to buy a house in the next couple of months! I'm excited and nervous all at the same time. Next on the list: find a dog, a new truck, and a wife! (In that order.)

So, my New Year's resolution to start a new adventure: DONE (well, pretty much). :thumbup1:
