Great ad.
The New Improved is a fun shaver.

I am a bit intrigued by the possibility of the Number 2 as listed.

Just loosen the knob a little?

I have to laugh at the incredible diversity of faces they're showing to prove their point.

Didn't notice till you mentioned it, but yeah - we're going to have to use that ad as an example in our next diversity training class. :w00t:

Here are the 1904 and 1907 instructions with adjusting method and a 1908 Ad that says, the Gillette razor is the only one that can be adjusted:

Love the advert of the guy shaving wearing a high shirt collar and a tie. Beats my towel around the waist or butt naked

Wow, I never even thought about loosening or tightening the handle to adjust the blade. I just snugged 'er up an' went about hackin' up m'face!
I'm now wondering, how well will this process for adjusting the blade by the tightness of the handle work for other razors, such as the Merkur HD and the Jagger DE87's and 89's and others with a threaded handle?

It's a little risky, as the looseness can increase during the shave. With less clamping, the blade is a little more apt to bite than with a properly designed different geometry head.

In the next few days I'm going to experiment with making a shim out of a used DE blade and increasing the blade gap of a Tech with it. I believe the shim is a far safer and more appropriate means of approaching this.
