I just finished my first shave with a Lord Platinum blade. It was a very smooth and enjoyable shave.

It did make me wonder. Since this was my first shave ever with that blade I took my time and was more deliberate with my technique. It seems technique is more important for me now.

Did I have a better shave because of the blade or was it because I had better technique? If I had left my Personna Red in for what probably would have been it’s 10th or 11th shave I wouldn’t have been as careful knowing one of my top blades was in my razor. It makes me wonder how good that shave would have been by comparison.

Do any of you notice that if you try a new blade you’re more careful with that first shave? The unknown of a new blade has me a little cautious even though I’m an experienced wet shaver now.
