I own 14 brushes of different varieties. Once every two weeks or so I take a fine tooth comb and comb through the bristles of my brushes. I find it keeps the bristles tidy, especially the badger and horse hair brushes. Do you comb your brushes?
The knots of all my badger, synth and boar brushes look very orderly to me, so no, I've never considered combing them. If it's not broke, why try to fix it?
No. Depending on use, I give them a very short warm water Dawn bath and a water/vinegar soak every couple of months. It really cleans them up nicely and removes any soap residue so there is no need to comb.
Yes, but only began recently. I had no clue how greatly this improves the condition of the knots and face feel. When the knots dry they go back to like new tight formation.
