How To Extend Life of Blades

I think the secret is to learn to hold the blade at the ideal shaving angle so that edge wear is minimized along with side forces on the blade. This is more important with coarse beards than fine ones as the coarse hairs will take more force to cut.

Goes without saying you need soap a slick as you can get it, along with good prep and fully hydrated hair.

I've tried storing the blade in a pyramid, flipping the blade over, honing the blade on my palm, and cleaning and drying the blade after every use. For me, the only thing that made a difference was honing -- and that decreased blade life. Go ahead and try some things though. Have fun.
