Who's shaving with the oldest razor?

Doubtful I will ever get to shave with this recent pickup from an antique store...I'm attempting to trade it for a John Barber.... It does have beautiful pressed horn scales...

I love these pics. I missed out on a nice old Sheffield John Shaw early 1800's razor the other night. Only had "John Shaw" on the tang stamp with nothing else and a nice short stubby Monkey tail. Will get myself one eventually.

Shaved with this one today,
not the oldest, but my oldest;

Bengall Cast Steel, 7/8, almost true wedge.
Shaves very well once tuned right, took a couple of tries to get it right.

Edge feels different from anything else I've tried, but that is probably because it was made before the Bessermer process was invented & became the industrial norm. So it's a different kind of steel. But certainly not bad.
Sharp as the dickens & still smooth enough to give a real comfy shave.

All original, so someone must have taken care of it in it's previous life.
Very tiny bevel! And I kept it that way with 3 layers of tape.

Plus I found it in the wild :w00t:

Nice razor. Exceptionally smooth shavers.

An oldie I saw today with a $300 price tag.... Sandwiched between a Pick Bone W&B and a Pearl Handled Henckels, a OLD 1700's Ivory Beast!!!

One of the earliest Wade & Butcher razors Ive seen....on its way to my home in Lakeland, Florida

I had a snipe set on that one, but on closer inspection I was worried you'd have to take off a lot of steel to get an edge so I pulled it. There is a particular worry spot near the shoulder that made me just not able to bid on it.

Edit:
This is the picture that had me worried

This was restored and given to me by Bill Ellis - and if memory serves me correctly - he believed this was 1700's...
