Shame there is no emoticon for shivering! Believe it or not though, I enjoyed the shave..

Ah, I was jesting about the roughing it part as the gear & product you used for the shave far surpasses what 99.9% of most shavers employ.

I hadn't considered the fact that you had no heat. So in that sense you really were roughing it. Kudos to you for being a gentleman. I probably woulda decided to stay scruffy under said conditions. I salute you sir!

The 1805 is great stuff. I don't like the scent as well as some of the other cologne scents out there (Floris Santal, TOBS Eton College), but man it's a great performing cream, and for that matter alone I think it just found it's way onto my wish list.

hot water face wash,facial cleaning with a nutregena type tea tree/lime oil soap and cleansing brush,hot towel.gillette fat boy setting 5 w/2day old derby,bath junkie shave cream applied with brush,2 passes :N-S and E-W.warm towel wipe down.-----this is the worst shave i've had in ages(now i understand the phrase-felt beat up)..had to follow with corn huskers lotion.15 minutes after that i had to apply lander cool frost a/s balm which finally cooled the burn. i'm not sure why this was so bad.

i had heard a lot of people say they liked the gillette new, so i was excited to give it a try. so excited i got up early to clean it! i had never used an open comb before this. verdict - maybe my favorite razor yet! i was worried the aggressiveness would bug me, as other aggressive razors (red tip) haven't worked well for me. the new was a champ though.
