A new style honing stone set?........:lol::lol:

Yes, it is my wee travel-set. Haven't worked out the grid size though

Nice shave kit there Soren! :thumbup1: Are you using the bottom of your custom scuttle or just floating the bowl? I noticed that you have shown only the top bowl in the last few SOTD shots. I hope it didn't get broken. :001_unsur

Thanks.
No the scuttle is not broken, I'm just using the top bowl as an ordinary bowl.
I'm trying to figure out the hype about the MWF and I'm following the tutorial that recommends making the lather in "cold" conditions.
So not to worry, the scuttle will return :001_smile
...and I still don't get the hype about MWF :confused1

Sunday, 2nd shave (!)

Merkur 15C w/ Hema blade
Shavemac custom, pure badger
Arko SS
A splash of cold water as aftershave

BTW, how is that Wahl Bay Rum down under?

Not very good at all and nothing like the Pinaud you have I suspect even though it's the only bayrum I've tried. If you want to try some, PM and I'll see if I can get a sample to you. You have been warned however.

What a gorgeous razor! I always love bluing of the shank and tang- I have a Dubl Duck Special No. 1 that still has this bluing. Those scales are beautiful as well. Hope she shaves as well as she looks!

Thanks, Thanks!

The Wellington razors were made in England and are not very well known. They are superb shavers with excellent workmanship. I don't see them very often for sale and when I do they don't command the prices of the current well-known brands but they shave just as well. Like you, I love the bluing as well.

If you see one at a great price, grab it! :thumbup1:

Happy Sunday to you all.

Today's shave was preceded by a warm shower

  • Musgo Real Lime oil soap wash
  • Proraso pre
  • T & H West Indies Lime SC (from the sample kit, didn't smell too great)
  • Penworks Silvertip badger brush
  • Feather Popular with Feather blade (s=1)... I need another razor.
  • WWR, CWR
  • Alum block
  • T&H WIL ASB.. Liked the ASB
  • Scent of the day: Grafton

I wasn't fond of the lime SC. It lathered fine, but the smell was "over-cooked" and not what I would call pleasant. Liked the ASB, but after a while it smelled a little like furniture polish on me.

Wonderfully pleasant shave, though!

Here's to a good week coming up!

Superspeed w/Swedish Gillette blade
EJ travel badger
Irisch Moos shaving cream
Caswell Massey Sandlewood aftershave cream
