I purchased this off of Amazon last week, and got around to trying it today. Nice scent, had a noticeable menthol effect and was easy to lather, and it provided all the protection I needed for a pleasant shave. I like it. The smaller sized tube might be my only knock, but it wasn't expensive, so I can let that slide.
I see an extra cool for $9 but no menthol in the ingredients.

It had a cooling effect of some kind.
On my green labeled tube, I asked the seller if the product had menthol, and their response was 'no.' Maybe I placebo'ed myself.

On many foreign creams the menthol is part of the " perfume " listing and not listed separately .
I suspect it has some cooling agent in it that must be part of the "perfume" even if it isn't menthol. It was a pleasant shaver regardless.

Could be oil of peppermint , but I don't smell it ....
Like you, I don't pick up any 'minty' overtones to the scent. Maybe I'll whip up a little tonight and study it more, but mine seemed slightly floral or green in its scent structure.
Scent aside, super minimal ingredients don't you think? I guess that's good. No?
" Only 5 left order soon" says Amazon. Should I get the Cool or Extra Cool?

Yes .... makes great lather and does not dry out the skin.....
Menthol is also used in essential oils.
I'll let you know Tuesday. I'll do an Amazon review then too.
Should be here in the next 2 hours. Full report tomorrow.
Just used it minutes ago. Box came in mint condition with nice graphics on tube also. Very thick lather and a scent sort of like a flower maybe. Someone said Brylcreem. Whipped up nicely, went on thicker than any other cream I've used to date. Fine Marvel razor and a Derby blade I swear is as sharp as a Feather on #2. VERY close shave BBS+. Tiny nick by the nostril not the fault of the cream. Definite cooling effect without the menthol kick. Very nice cream. Next time I'll use my Tech. Solid DFS.
