We have more of the 'True Value' stores in the area, but there's an ACE about 9 miles away. Gives me a reason to take a bike ride! 
The HF kit did have a black compound in it. Not much, but enough to get started. Hopefully, I'll have time to get started on this project this weekend. I've finished with the yard work, but I have to go pick up a patio set and set up the new grill..........and use it, I guess.
